Today Be-Mobile launches the first phase of Supa Strika. It is a very excit­ing time for Be-Mobile, and for me per­son­ally. Supa Strikas is a pop­u­lar foot­ball comic in Africa, across about 18 coun­tries, with a tele­vi­sion show in South Africa as well.
This is their first real foray into mobile, and with the excel­lent qual­ity con­tent that Supa Strikas deliv­ers, I have no doubt that the ser­vice will be a suc­cess.
The first phase launches in Kenya today, fol­lowed by launches in South Africa and Nige­ria soon after­wards.
Per­son­ally, I am very excited to mon­i­tor the new mobile con­tent man­age­ment soft­ware that I have devel­oped. This is the first site that is run­ning on the new transcod­ing engine, and I think it will be a real dif­fer­en­tia­tor for us in the mar­ket­place.
